Sprucestar lept up onto the highrock and called his clan into order.
"All cats old enough to catch your own prey please gather bellow the Highrock for a clan meeting!" As the clan began to assemble, Sprucestar gazed up at the cloudless sky, letting the sun burn into his eyes. He wished Froststar was here to watch him appoint his first deputy. After Autumnstar had died, he had been caught in a whirlwind of fear and sadness. It wasn't until he had really looked into the eyes of the newly appointed RiverClan leader, that he really discovered his purpose in the forest.
Froststar had been appointed RiverClan leader when her leader, Ripplestar died around the same time as Autumnstar. He had talked to her at his first gathering and he had felt the urge to run away with her and love her forever. Even though it was against the code, he was proud to call Froststar his mate.
Sprucestar looked down again to see all of his clan gathered at the bottom of the rock, staring up at him expectingly.
"We are gathered here today to name a new deputy. Firestorm please step forward." As the young warrior stepped forward, Sprucestar began the words he had heard only once before, spoken by Autumnstar when he was named deputy. Her previous deputy, Kinkfoot had died in a battle with WindClan over stolen territory. He had been so proud that day and he could only imagine what Firestorm was feeling right now.
"I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors can hear and approve of my choice."
Sprucestar paused and set his gaze to look into Firestorm's eyes.
"Firestorm will be the new deputy of ThunderClan."
Sprucestar lept down from the Highrock and rested his chin on Firestorm's head.
"May StarClan guild your way." He whispered.
ThunderClan rushed up to congradulate Firestorm as Sprucestar walked to his den. Something was bothering him but he couldn't remember what.
When he stepped into the den, he froze.
"FROSTSTAR!!!!!!!!!!" He yowled, remembering what Birdstar had told him in his dream. I hope she didn't mean that I will have to lose my mate to StarClan.
Sprucestar curled up in his nest and tried to speak to Froststar through his mind. Meet me on our border.
He stood up again, shook himself off and ran back to where he had last seen Froststar that morning.

Froststar and Stoneclaw were sending out patrols for herbs and berries, as the last supply had been destroyed by a fox. Suddenly, she heard Sprucestar's voice, "Meet me on our border" "Stoneclaw, I am going to do a bit of hunting. Watch the clan while I'm gone" She left camp and trekked through the marshlands, as the stream steadily became closer. She crossed it and waited at the sunningrocks.

Firestorm stirred as a wind brushed against his fur almost like telling him to wake. It was then the call was sounded and he stood up trying to rid the sleep from his deep green eyes. Taking a sheathed paw he wiped further sleep away. Earlier day events then came to him, Sprucestar’s sudden disappearance and then reappearance, his leader’s mistaken look for him and then being told he was to be Thunderclan’s new deputy. Firestorm felt pride and happiness swell in him but there was always that nagging feeling that this was going too fast. Firestorm stretched once more before he paddled off to meet with the others in his clan. He looked up the sky was clear not a single cloud in sight, only the sun’s burning rays warmed his pelt. He guessed it was going to be evening soon for afternoon had passed a while ago. *Today’s the day then…* He thought silently to himself. The fiery tom closed his eyes and waited, listening to his leader call his name for the deputy position. He smiled and then Sprucestar laid his chin on his head and granted him a safe path with Starclan. “Thank-you. I do.” He answered then. The meeting drew to a close soon after and cats came to greet him and congratulate his new position. Most cats came and spoke to him and even a few kits. He smiled and thanked them and watched as Sprucestar entered his den and then soon after was sprinting away. Firestorm wanted to take the first patrol out as deputy, that was what normally occurred but something else was drawing his immediate attention. Giving his orders as official deputy he followed Sprucestar’s trail. He wanted to know where his leader was going in such a hurry.

Froststar could smell Sprucestar's Thunderclan scent, soon his figure appeared. It was very hard to see him on this foggy day. She wondered if the message she had heard Sprucestar tell her meant that he could use telepathy She shook her head, these were the thoughts of a kit.

Sprucestar raced up to Froststar. "I had a dream last night," he told his mate hurriedly. He was getting anxious and had a feeling someone was watching him. "Birdstar told me we weren't supposed to fight Shadowtribe. Instead she said the answer was in the one I love!" He licked Froststar's nose, "I have no idea what to do!" Suddenly he heard a twig snap and wheeled around. A familiar scent hit his nose, "Firestorm...."

Froststar's eyes widened with shock. Firestorm had followed his leader. She didn't know what to say. "Hello Firestorm..." She meowed, barely managing to cough out the greeting.

Firestorm was usually very cunning in his tracking and could be quiet but even the sound of a twig snapping made him turn around with narrowed eyes. At first he though it may have been him but looking around there were no twigs around him, it wasn’t him… Firestorm then heard the call of his name, recognizing it was Sprucestar calling him out. He cursed silently as he came through the undergrowth. He paused trying to not show his astonishment at who was with his leader. *What in the name of Starclan is going on?!?!* HE thought franticly trying to figure out if this was a good thing or a bad thing. The tom gazed down to the ground for a moment and cleared his throat. Looking back up he had a neutral and controlled look or at least that was what he was trying to portray to the two clan leaders. Froststar then spoke faintly in greeting. “Greetings Froststar, Sprucestar…” He answered nodding to each. He was unsure of how to approach this situation. All that was going though his head was ‘Good job Firestorm, now you’ve been caught spying on your leader…’ This was going to loose him the position of deputy. But still he couldn’t decide if it was a good thing he followed or a bad thing. He awaited for Sprucestar to break the awkward silence that filled the air around them.

Froststar stood there, not knowing how to react. Should she pretend that it was a border squabble? No. There wouldn't just be two leaders. Should she pretend that the leaders were going to have a meeting? That might work, but what if Sprucestar just wanted to tell the truth? But most importantly, was StarClan MAD at her?! Questions swirled inside her head, blocking out everything else for a moment, then she snapped back into reality. As someone began to speak
*Whoever, just not me!*

*I will*
Sprucestar glanced up at the sky. Was this a sign? No! No way! Froststar is the most important thing to me in the entire world! But should I blow our secret? No I can't. Froststar and I can figure this out later. I just want her to be happy. "Firestorm, Froststar and I decided to have a secret meeting about Shadowtribe, as not to worry our warriors. I am not surprised how shocked you are but you will still be punished for spying on us. This is only for leaders to hear," Sprucestar glanced desperately at Froststar as he walked towards Sprucestar. "I'll see you at the gathering tomorrow night." Then he gently nudged Firestorm down the path.

Froststar was relieved. She waited until Firestorm's scent faded, and purred. She licked her mates muzzle. " There is something I have to tell you. Cinder, the leader of Shadowtribe, is my cousin. She tried to kill me oneday on a hunting patrol when I was an apprentice. I don't know why, but she hates me and anyone connected to me."

"It could relate to the prophecy. I think if I need to look into the one I love, I must look into you." Suddenly Sprucestar's eyes lightened up, "Thats it! You have bloodlines with Shadowtribe! Which means, you are the key to defeating them," He nuzzled her, then gazed into her eyes. "I can't make you do anything, but if you were to help, you would lure Cinder into a trap and then the tribe will fall apart without their leader. We don't have to fight. It can be a trap that kills him. Maybe with deathberries."

ooc:Do you want bloodfur to hear them and spoil the plan??
The awkward silence that filled the air around them was soon broke by Sprucestar’s voice. Firestorm fought the urge to contradict or even speak. Secret meetings and such, deputies should been told or the medicine should have been told. If they were to speak of Shadowtribe, the warriors should be told so that there was no surprise and more cats can keep a look out for strange cats, not kept in the dark. What was worse for him to realize was his leader and the Riverclan leader looked a little to comfortable around each other and it bothered him. Firestorm wasn’t surprised he would be punished but at the same time he didn’t think he should be. This was all confusing and he kept his mouth shut on his thoughts. Firestorm nodded. “Very well, I shall leave you…” He meowed solemnly. He was carful of his expression, not allowing it to reflect his emotions. He walked away at a quick pace allowing them room. What did he do now he thought as he walked deeper into tall pines to help him think.

ooc: Yes, Bloodfur/cinder/anyone else from shadowtribe could hear their plans.
Froststar gazed into Sprucestar's eyes. " That would help. At the gathering, I am announcing Shadowtribe's arrival. Tonight I plan to go to mothermouth and share tongues with Starclan."

Hidden in the cover of darkness of a large tree was a small she-cat. Blood red patches covered her marking her as Bloodfur, and her amber eyes looked slightly red as she watched silently. She had though she was discovered when she misjudged a paw step and stepped on a twig. She had frozen on the spot but instead a Thunderclan warrior was called out and she was left undiscovered. Bloodfur had watched the warrior look around for her before he was called and she muffled a sneer when she heard he was going to be punished, looks like she wasn’t the only one spying. Narrowed eyes watched the two clan leaders plot against Shadowtribe, her eyes angled towards them as they spoke. She smiled they wouldn’t be able to trap Cinder if she knew, and as for the leadership lost if Cinder was caught Bloodfur would take over and kill anyone who cowered. She wouldn’t stand for failure. She was silent and still the darkness hid her well she would never be caught.
